I am told by my cousin, Thomas Kennedy of Auldgirth, Dumfries, that Thomas Kennedy was a Glasgow merchant and was said to have been an importer of raw paper material. As well as being a merchant he was an insurance agent. The picture on the right was taken in 1860 in Glasgow and has been colourised.
